Artists' Legal Rights Project
Hosted in Collaboration with Pro Bono Students Canada
In collaboration with Cultivate Art Commons, law students from Queen’s University and a Kingston-based lawyer have developed a comprehensive legal guide tailored specifically to emerging artists.
This accessible resource breaks down key areas of law— including copyright protection, registration, licensing, social media use, reproduction rights, and essential legal agreements—so artists can better understand and safeguard their work.
Designed to cut through complex legal jargon, the guide brings critical information together in one clear, concise place. By simplifying the legal landscape, this project empowers artists to confidently protect their creations—so they can focus on what truly matters: making art.
